GHI Smart Furnaces has recently initiated operations of a new 30-ton rotary tilting furnace at Latem Aluminium’s facility in Villadangos, Spain. This development marks a significant upgrade from the existing 12-ton furnace, aiming to boost the annual production capacity to 30,000 tons of secondary aluminium.
Enhancing Aluminium Recovery Efficiency
The newly launched furnace excels in recovering aluminium from low-quality scrap, producing significantly fewer contaminants compared to traditional models. Furthermore, its innovative design simplifies the dross removal and cleaning processes, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and sustainability.
Moreover, Latem Aluminium is set to increase its annual production to 45,000 tons by 2022. Initially, the facility will produce aluminium ingots for diverse sectors, including automotive and other industrial applications. Additionally, once the new aluminium lamination plant in Zamora becomes operational, it will source a portion of its raw materials from the Villadangos plant, further integrating Latem’s production processes.
Future Outlook and Media Coverage
This strategic expansion has garnered attention from notable industry publications such as Aluminium International Today and Heat Processing, highlighting the technological advancements and growth prospects of GHI Smart Furnaces in the aluminium recycling sector.
With these advancements, GHI Smart Furnaces continues to lead the way in developing innovative solutions that not only meet the high standards of today’s industrial needs but also contribute to more sustainable manufacturing practices.
