STEAM Project to Promote Gender Equality in Technology

As part of its commitment to social responsibility, GHI supports the Inspira STEAM project, initiated by the University of Deusto. This initiative aims to dismantle gender stereotypes by promoting STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics) careers among young girls.

Empowering Future Female Technologists

In this innovative project, professional women from research, science, and technology fields mentor elementary students. They aim to inspire scientific and technological vocations among girls, highlighting that career choices are not gender-dependent.

Ainhoa Ochoa, an Industry 4.0 Engineer at GHI, played a pivotal role as a mentor in this project’s fourth edition. Over six sessions, she engaged with primary school students from Karmengo Ama Ikastetxea in Amorebieta, employing group mentoring techniques to encourage young girls to envision themselves in STEAM roles.

“It’s crucial to highlight the contributions of women past and present in engineering fields,” says Ochoa. “At GHI, we strive to showcase that men and women are equally capable of innovating and solving industry challenges. By empowering young girls with the knowledge to recognize and overcome stereotypes, we help them to make informed career choices.”

A Continuous Commitment to Equality

GHI remains dedicated to fostering scientific and technological vocations among the youth, particularly girls. This commitment is part of our broader strategy to support equality and ensure diverse talent thrives within our company.

We look forward to future opportunities to contribute to this transformative project and continue our efforts to recruit and develop exceptional female talent at GHI.

Join us in upcoming sessions and support our journey towards a more inclusive and equitable STEAM community.

GHI Joins the ROTANACE Project to Improve Aluminium Recycling Efficiency

GHI is participating in the ROTANACE project to automate rotary furnaces in aluminium recycling, improving energy efficiency, lowering emissions, and reducing operating costs.

GHI DOJO: Redefining Industrial Furnace Training

The GHI DOJO is the first Industrial Furnace Commissioning Training Center, designed for hands-on, real-world learning. This dedicated facility allows engineers, technicians, and technical students to master furnace commissioning through structured training, process standardization, and live simulations. By bridging the gap between theory and practice, the DOJO enhances operational efficiency, minimizes errors, and develops the next generation of industrial experts.
